Detlev Graf von Garnier-Turawa
Detlev Graf von Garnier-Turawa[a] (24 September 1906 – 27 June 1944) was a highly decorated Hauptmann der Reserve in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Detlev Graf von Garnier-Turawa was killed on 27 June 1944 near Babins, Russia.

- a Regarding personal names: Graf was a title until 1919, translated as Count, not a first or middle name. The female form is Gräfin. In Germany, however, since 1919 Graf/Gräfin is no title any more but part of the surname and thus following the given name(s) and not to be translated.
